The Foundation

There are many different universal health care system plans, some of which consist of two or more ideas combined. The plans provide efficient health care, a low cost, quality medical service, and a plate full of variated options.

The single-payer system.

Within this system, the government provides full and free health care that is paid by revenue of income taxes. The services under this plan are mostly government-owned, and the service providers are mostly government employees. With this health care, the government tries to ensure that all medical staff provides quality care at a reasonable cost. The health care workers must collect and analyze data to the fullest extent since they also want to use their purchasing power to create an influence upon other health care workers.

The social health insurance model

The social health insurance model is where everyone is required to buy insurance usually through their employers. Within this plan, Private doctors and hospitals provide medical services and the government controls the health insurance prices.

The national health insurance plan is the last plan for universal health care. This plan uses public insurance services to pay for private practice medical services. In this plan, every citizen pays into the national insurance plan, which lowers administrative costs since there is only one insurance company. This allows the government to have a lot of leverage into forcing medical costs to go down.

Advantages

The biggest advantage of universal health care is that everyone gets access to care without having to worry about any debts regarding health care expenses. Some other advantages include lowering the health care cost for the national economy, equalizing service, prolonging life expectancy, and decreasing social inequality.

Disadvantages

Some disadvantages of universal health care include long waiting times, greater costs, a limit on services with low success rates, and less financial incentive to stay healthy. Despite all of these disadvantages, universal health care helps many people around the world every day.
